4. Signal Strength: Using Stories, Insights, and POV to Build Executive Presence

In a world where video meetings dominate, and AI-generated content floods the feed, the leaders people trust most are the ones who sound unmistakably human.

Authenticity isn’t a buzzword; it’s a differentiator. And nothing builds authentic executive presence like a story grounded in your lived experience.

Stories allow people to feel who you are, not just read what you know. They reveal your judgment. Your values. Your way of thinking. Your perspective — which is what sets you apart in a sea of sameness.

Expertise Informs. Perspective Influences.

Here’s a recent moment from my own work.

A client came to me wanting a three-sentence LinkedIn About section. “People have short attention spans,” they said. “Let’s keep it tight.”

But my job isn’t to win a brevity contest. My job is to position leaders so they can be found — organically, strategically, and consistently.

So I walked them through LinkedIn’s 2,600-character About section limit, and why using that space matters. The more we write from the heart, with clarity, conviction, and purpose, the more naturally we use the keywords that signal our leadership to the algorithm and to the humans reading our profile.

It wasn’t a battle of wills. It was a conversation about logic, strategy, and outcomes. A story that reframed their thinking and strengthened our partnership.

That’s the power of perspective. Your experiences, insights, and frameworks don’t just inform your audience; they influence how people see you.

Your stories are your strongest signal.

They differentiate. They resonate. They make your leadership visible and memorable.

🌟 Afterword — Strengthening Your Signal

Today’s lesson focused on signal strength — how your stories, insights, and point of view shape how others experience you as a leader.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I know my leadership is stronger than my online presence reflects,” you’re not alone. Many accomplished executives reach a moment where their profile, content, or engagement simply hasn’t caught up with who they’ve become.

If that’s you, here are two ways we might explore working together:

1️⃣ A Strategic Conversation

If you’re looking to better align your LinkedIn profile, refine your leadership narrative, or think more strategically about how you show up and engage online, I invite you to start with a conversation. A focused call can bring clarity quickly — and help you decide what next step makes the most sense.

👉 Message me here on LinkedIn if you’d like to explore this.

2️⃣ Coming in February: The 21-Day Executive Profile Reset™

You don’t need to be louder to be more visible. You need to be clearer — and more intentional — about the signal you send.

Let’s make your brilliance impossible to ignore™.
