2. Consistency Creates Credibility
On LinkedIn — and in leadership — trust isn’t granted by a single post. It’s earned by the small, reliable signals you send over and over. Consistency turns visibility into dependability.
To make this practical, I call it the Consistency Trilogy™ — three ways your reliability builds credibility online:
- Show Up Consistently: Not everyone acts on first impressions. Sometimes you notice a new voice but don’t connect right away. It’s the second, third, or tenth time you see their thoughtful comment or insightful post that tips you toward action. Consistent presence keeps you top of mind — and eventually earns engagement.
- Speak Consistently: When your voice is clear and steady across posts, comments, and even your About section, people begin to know what you stand for. That repetition builds trust. Research confirms it: consistency in brand and message increases recognition and credibility.¹
- Follow Through Consistently: Whether it’s replying to a comment, honoring a commitment, or inviting someone to a virtual coffee visit (and making it easy with a scheduling link), reliability earns credibility. Studies show that keeping promises is foundational to building lasting trust.²
Together, the Consistency Trilogy sends a powerful signal: you can count on me.
